Turkey’s Agricultural Exports Still Stand Above $2 bn per Month in 2021

Turkey’s agricultural exports reached $2.33 bn in July, according to data shared by the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM). Turkey’s exports in July 2021 amounted to $16.4 bn with an increase of 10.2%, compared to July 2020. According to the numbers, the export volumes remained above $2 bn for seven months in a row (Growtech, 2022).

The total exports from January to July 2021 were increased by 34.9%, compared to the same period in 2020, and reached $121.3 bn.

Turkey’s agricultural exports were $2.59 bn in January, $2.12 bn in February, $2.42 bn in March, $2.35 bn in April, $2.76 bn in May, and $2.56 bn in June.

The share of agriculture in total exports of Turkey was 12.4% in July. The export volume of the agriculture industry in January-July 2021 reached $15.64 bn, with an 18.3% increase, compared to the same period in 2020 (Growtech, 2022).

As economies recover from the negative impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, the increase in the food demand has been sustained, which gave a boost to export volumes (Growtech, 2022).

Turkey’s industrial exports were also increased by 10.6% in July, reaching $12.67 bn, while mineral exports soared by 28.3%, reaching $477.7 million (Growtech, 2022).
